Rangers' Cole Winn: Seemingly healthy for spring
Winn (shoulder) threw a live batting practice session during Monday's full-squad workout, Matthew Postins of SI.com reports.
Winn closed the past season on the injured list after sustaining a right rotator cuff strain, but he seems to have made a full recovery from the issue during the offseason and doesn't look to be under any restrictions in camp. The right-hander is coming off a strong 2025 campaign in which he posted a 1.51 ERA and 0.96 WHIP in 41.2 innings out of the bullpen, but a lack of overpowering stuff (10 SwSt%, 21.6 K%) may prevent him from garnering serious consideration for the Rangers' unsettled closer role.

Rangers' Corey Seager: Takes BP on Monday
Seager (appendix) took live batting practice Monday and appears to be 100 percent healthy for the start of spring training, Matthew Postins of SI.com reports.
Seager closed this past season on the injured list after requiring an appendectomy in late August, but he was cleared to resume baseball activities a little under three weeks after the procedure and appears to have had a normal offseason. While good health has often been elusive for Seager since he played 151 games in his first campaign with Texas in 2022, he's remained excellent when available over the subsequent three seasons, producing a collective 152 wRC+ during that stretch. First-year manager Skip Schumaker has yet to make any firm decisions on the makeup of the Rangers lineup for 2026 beyond noting that Brandon Nimmo will likely bat leadoff, but Seager seems like a good bet to slot second or third in the batting order more often than not.

Rangers' Sam Haggerty: Entering spring healthy
Haggerty (ankle) took live batting practice against teammate Nathan Eovaldi on Sunday, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
Haggerty didn't see action after mid-August of last season due to a setback in his recovery from an ankle issue during a September rehab assignment. That didn't deter the Rangers from tendering him a contract this offseason, and he's in good shape to win a utility job on the Opening Day roster. In addition to being able to play all three outfield spots, second base, third base and shortstop, the switch-hitting Haggerty will give Texas a weapon against left-handed pitching. He slashed .318/.376/.435 across 94 plate appearances versus southpaws in 2025.

Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Oblique injury not a concern
Langford (oblique) took his first live batting practice session of spring training Sunday, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
Langford was shut down for the final five games of the 2025 season due to a left oblique strain, but he's believed to have had a normal offseason. The 24-year-old will open the season as the Rangers' everyday left fielder, though he could occasionally slide over to center in place of Evan Carter when Texas faces left-handed pitching.

Rangers' Brandon Nimmo: Set for leadoff duties
Manager Skip Schumaker said Sunday that he expects Nimmo to open the season as the Rangers' everyday right fielder and leadoff hitter, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.
Josh Smith served as Texas' primary leadoff man in 2025, but Nimmo's .350 career OBP and less extreme splits make for a more logical choice at the top of the order. After batting fourth or fifth for much of last season with the Mets, Nimmo will lose out on RBI opportunities with the move, but he could make a push for his first 100-run campaign since 2022 while hitting in front of Corey Seager and Wyatt Langford. The move to right field could prove to be a more challenging adjustment for Nimmo, as he hasn't seen action there since 2020.

Rangers' Josh Sborz: Completes side session
Sborz (shoulder) tossed a bullpen session Saturday, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
The 32-year-old righty looks to be healthy for the start of spring training after he was limited to just a handful of minor-league rehab appearances in 2025 after undergoing surgery on his throwing shoulder in November 2024. After the Rangers non-tendered him in November, Sborz re-signed with the organization on a minor-league deal in January. He'll need to regain his pre-surgery velocity and command in order to make a serious run at a spot in the Opening Day bullpen.

Rangers' Josh Smith: Preparing to play second base
Smith confirmed Sunday that he's preparing to mainly play second base in 2026 following the trade of Marcus Semien, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
Smith finished second on the Rangers with 563 plate appearances a season ago, but he didn't have a permanent home at any one position. The super-utility player instead filled in as injuries dictated, logging 46 starts at shortstop, 28 at third base, 23 at first base, 14 in the outfield, 10 at designated hitter and three at second base. He'll carry eligibility at shortstop, third base and first base in most fantasy leagues heading into 2026, and he should also be usable for at keystone quickly if manager Skip Schumaker commits to him as the club's primary second baseman. The Rangers could look to deploy the left-handed-hitting Smith on the strong side of a platoon, as slashed just .206/.277/.224 (47 wRC+) in 121 plate appearances against southpaws last season.

Rangers' Mark Canha: Joins Texas on camp deal
Canha signed Sunday with the Rangers on a minor-league contract that includes an invitation to major-league spring training.
The 37-year-old first baseman/outfielder will compete for a short-side platoon role on the Opening Day roster. Before being cut loose in August, Canha saw action in 46 games for Kansas City last season, slashing .212/.272/.265 with one home run and six RBI across 125 plate appearances.

Rangers' Zak Kent: Cleared from 40-man roster
The Rangers designated Kent for assignment Friday.
The transaction frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for the signing of Jordan Montgomery (elbow). Kent was a waiver claim of the Rangers in January and could be on the move again. The right-hander posted a 4.58 ERA and 16:8 K:BB over 17.2 regular-season innings with the Guardians last season.

Rangers' Izack Tiger: Delayed by elbow setback
Tiger suffered a minor setback with his rehab from an internal brace surgery and is not scheduled to face hitters until the end of spring training, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Tiger missed all of last season following the September 2024 surgery. The 25-year-old was not going to make the Opening Day roster, as he's yet to advance past High-A and is coming off a lost campaign, and it's far from ideal that his development has been further delayed.

Rangers' Nabil Crismatt: Undergoing UCL surgery
Crismatt will undergo surgery to repair a torn UCL in his right elbow, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
It had been previously reported that Crismatt needed elbow surgery, and now it's been revealed that it will be a season-ending UCL repair. Whether he requires a full Tommy John surgery or something less invasive won't be known until the operation. Crismatt had been in Rangers camp on a minor-league contract.

It's unclear what specific procedure Crismatt requires, but even a minor one will likely sidelined him for a least a few months. The right-hander is in Rangers camp as a non-roster invitee. If Crismatt is able to make it back later this season, he'll likely pitch at Triple-A Round Rock.

Rangers' Sebastian Walcott: Out for 2026 after elbow surgery
Walcott will undergo UCL surgery on his right elbow and will miss most, if not all, of the 2026 season, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
The hope is that Walcott needs internal brace surgery rather than a full Tommy John repair, but the Rangers won't know until he has the procedure in a few days. The former would give him a slight chance to return late in the season. Slated to turn 20 in March, Walcott is one of the game's elite prospects and could have pushed for a major-league debut this season. He slashed .255/.355/.386 with 13 home runs and 32 stolen bases over 124 games in 2025 at Double-A Frisco as a 19-year-old.

Rangers' Nathan Eovaldi: Reports to camp in full health
Eovaldi (hernia) reported to camp healthy and threw his first bullpen session Tuesday, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.
Eovaldi was shut down last season in August and eventually underwent surgery during the offseason to address a sports hernia issue. He said he'd been dealing with the hernia since 2024, but it never affected his pitching. Eovaldi had an impressive 1.73 ERA over 22 starts in 2025, his fourth consecutive season with fewer than 30 starts. The right-hander turns 36 this spring, and manager Skip Schumaker is planning a slow build-up for Eovaldi, similar to how the club handled Jacob deGrom in 2025.

Rangers' Ben Abeldt: Hoping to make pro debut in April
Abeldt (elbow) said Wednesday that he resumed throwing off a mound three weeks ago and is hopeful to make his season debut at some point in late April, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
A fifth-round pick out of TCU in the 2025 First-Year Player Draft, Abeldt is still waiting to make his professional debut after he was sidelined last summer while on the mend from internal brace surgery on his left elbow. The 22-year-old has made good progress in his rehab program during the ensuing months and looks on pace to start facing hitters at some point before the end of spring training. He'll likely report to Single-A Hickory once he's cleared for game action.

Rangers' MacKenzie Gore: Opens camp with bullpen session
Gore (ankle) was seen throwing a bullpen session Wednesday, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.
Gore wasn't expected to be entering spring training with any restrictions after a minor right ankle impingement kept him out of action for the final week of the 2025 season, but his ability to throw a side session on the second day of camp confirms he's healthy. Acquired in a January deal that sent five prospects to Washington, Gore is likely penciled in as the Rangers' No. 3 starter behind Jacob deGrom and Nathan Eovaldi (core).

Rangers' Emiliano Teodo: Behind schedule with back issue
Teodo will be about 2-to-3 weeks behind schedule in spring training after dealing with a back injury last season, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
Teodo missed more than two months of action during the middle of the 2025 minor-league season because of a back problem. He finished the season healthy, but the Rangers don't want to push him early on in camp. Church dealt with lat issues for a large portion of the 2025 campaign, as well. The expectation is that he will be ready to throw off a mound again sometime in March, but Church's status for Opening Day is uncertain. Rangers' Alexis Diaz: Has chance at closer job
Rangers manager Skip Schumaker said Wednesday that Diaz has a chance to see saves for the club this season, but the manager wants to see how the former Reds closer looks in spring training games first, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
Schumaker listed Robert Garcia and Chris Martin as the initial favorites to close games, but he left the door open for Diaz. The 29-year-old righty notched 75 saves for Cincinnati from 2022-24, but he fell apart in 2025, posting an 8.15 ERA and 1.53 WHIP over 17.2 innings between three different teams. It's a good opportunity for Diaz to re-establish himself on a team lacking bullpen clarity, but he has a lot to prove before fantasy managers can trust him again.

Rangers' Chris Martin: Could see save opportunities
Rangers manager Skip Schumaker said Wednesday that Robert Garcia and Martin are the favorites to see save chances for the team this season, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
After mulling retirement, Martin re-signed with the Rangers in December on a one-year, $4 million contract.
